Anyone who says vacations are relaxing, are lying. For several weeks prior to our maiden voyage we spiffed up "6Wheels," my name for our RV. Mike resealed the top to insure that it was waterproof and waxed the body. I made new decals to cover the existing faded ones.We had to replace the LP/AC refrigerator (not a cheap proposition). We did a thorough cleaning and several upgrades for comfort. The items we felt we needed for comfort included a CD/AM/FM radio, stand alone Sirius radio receiver, TV, and DVD player. There were needs too. Dishes, silver wear, containers for storing, and cleaning items. King bedding doesn't fit a full bed so we had to purchase all new bedding. Then the inside had to be redecorated. We laid new carpet in the bathroom and replaced a sliding shower door with a new shower curtain plus new color coordinated towels. Matching throw rugs were added in the living room and bedroom. For the final touch we hung new pictures, three dimensional wall hangings and painted an ugly cloth valance in the bathroom. Mike really got into the interior decorating it was all "hands on," he did the physical positioning and attachments.
A reminder of what to do in the bathroom. Sometimes you need instruction. |

Our trial run was to visit friends in McCook, Nebraska. It was a short three day adventure. Our friends hooked us up to their electricity and we were able to pretend we were off on a real trip. We didn't get to cook, as that was graciously provided by our hostess. They have a beautiful 5th wheel and provided us with some great tips on RVing.
